Fascinating Art works; ABU plans to hold AFAS Week.

The Fine Art department, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria is set to hold its Association of Fine Arts Students week between 11-16th October, 2021.
The exhibition is an annual event hosted at the end of second semester, by the student Union. It features the display of paintings and sculpture as well as performance art.
The president further stated that, preparation is ongoing and it has not been easy as the events have to be properly put together because it attracts art collectors from within and outside the university, and he hopes that together with his team, they will do a great job and even surpass thier predecessors. When asked about other exhibition organised by the department, he revealed that there is a course in 400 Level that is solely exhibition and it is mandatory for all final year student, as it constitue their continuous assessment as well as their examination score.

He also explained that his administration has successfully organized and hosted two exhibitions, one at faculty level and the other at the departmental level and it is the responsibility of the curator to pick out the best artwork to be put out for display. Speaking to the curator about how the selection is done, he explained that the selection process is very tasking and he has to make sure that the artworks picked out are not below standard, as well as, speaking to the artists to get them to explain the story behind their piece as it will be his responsibility to explain them on the day of the event.
He explained that "the work of a curator is to ensure that there is proper exhibition and,I am also vested with the raesponsibility of selecting the best of the submitted artworks and explain them to the guest on the day of the event".
